Original Hatha-Yoga, as it has been laid down in old scriptures, is a powerful and purely mystic science aiming at awakening hidden forces in human beings to attain self-realization. This ancient discipline is also called Kundalini-Yoga, the core of this archaic Yoga is the mystic serpent power Kundalini, and the practice of Hatha is used to awaken her from her sleep.
For thousands of years the secrets of Yoga have been handed down from the Guru to capable disciples by word of mouth or by transmission of energy. This ancient tradition of imparting secret lore and practices from the adept to qualified students is called “Guru Shishya Parampara", the great heritage descending to the teachings of Lord Shiva. This is essential especially in Tantrism, of which Hatha- and Kundalini-Yoga are important and basic aspects, but found its expression also in classical Indian arts like music and dance. If a student is eager to fit into this divine line of master and disciple he needs special aptitude and eagerness to qualify for initiation into the mysteries of Yoga.
Reinhard Gammenthaler is an initiate of this genuine tradition called Kundalini-Yoga-Parampara, and during his long Sadhana in the remote foothills of the Himalayas he has learnt subtle techniques of attaining altered states of consciousness and trance by using Asana, Mudra and Svara, the yogic method of directing Prana in the body. In his workshops he guides the participants into the exciting universe of pure yoga-feelings that bestow happiness, health and longevity.
Reinhard Gammenthaler was the last student of Swami Dhirendra Brahmachari who himself was a successor of the great seer and saint Yogi Shri Maharshi Kartikeya.
